The company was incorporated on 27.01.1999 as a private limited company in the name and style of Datum Technologys (India) Private Limited and was converted into a public limited. Datum Technologys (India) limited was set u for development of software, to offer IT related services in all fields and to operate computer educational and courseware development centres. Datum presently offers solutions on the AS/400, Windows NT and Linux platforms to various segments such as Travel, Transportation, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Distribution, Healthcare and Educational Institutions. The company is also engaged in providing IT Training in E-Commerce and software engineering on the AS?400 platform. Company is an IBM AS/400 "Partner in Development". The main objects of the company are as under: 1. To carry on the work of development of computer software and related service in all fields of application, to operate computer educational and courseware development centres and deal in all varieties of computer and micro processor based products and provide support services and organise training and education in computer usage and application. 2. To render services of all kinds relating to computers and microprocessor based equipment including software development, networking, consultancy and recruitment services, data processing and dissemination of knowledge and skills related to the foregoing and management consulting activities of all types and descriptions. 3. To franchise and sub-franchise any or allofthe activities of the company and to act as Consultants, Dealers, importers, Exporters, Agents and Developers in the fireldof information technology and to market all products connected therewith. The company has been promoted by Mr Shrawan Sharmaw who has wide experience of 17 years including 11 years in IT sector. He is presently the Managing Director and CEO of the company. He is a B Com and Diploma in Computer Studies. |

The Indian software industry has seen considerable growth over the past several years with CAGR of 56% between 1994-1995. The growth has largely been fueled by certain competitive advantages, with regard to the international Software business. The industry comprises two parts, Indian market and export market. Exports are doing well, growing at about 55% yearly. The domestic market is not growing at a fast rate, mainly because of government instability. Duty for Software products has gone down. A sense of urgency of Information Technology is created in the country. |

| Datum is in
the process of developing a number of Solutions to all its Target market segments
(Industries in Travel and Tours, Supply chain management, Education, Banking, Insurance,
Hospitality, Manufacturing and Healthcare) to integrate all their business functions
including Financial Accounting, Marketing and Sales, Material and purchase management,
Engineering, Quality control, Plant Maintenance, Tool and Dies, Human Resource and Payroll
management, Supply chain Management, Excise / Octroi / Customs, Fixed Assets, Customer
Relationship management. The company proposes to set up two offices in the US - one in Pittsburgh and the other in California. The offices in these places have been felt necessary by the company for procuring business from the US for its main activities such as software development etc. |

very nature is particularly suited to serve organisations which experience large turnover
of data, have a frequent and extensive customer interface and in which customer
dissatisfaction is low. Today, the Software Industry is flooded with several companies. There is tough competition in this industry. There is good market for Software Products but the attitude and focus on these products is changed. The quality of the product, its timing in the market, its uniqueness and customer satisfaction are the key factors that differentiate one company from the other. |
