Who are your competitors?

Content-wise, there are many other sites, but as per the services provided, we are the first people to provide all the services online. But now many sites are coming up and almost there are 15-20 sites providing this content. But the biggest advantage is that we have the sufficient knowledge of understanding the market and know where the global tender market is heading to.

What is your USP?

Our USP is the entire spectrum of services which we are offering. Like today many vertical portals come to us for the tender related services. As far as our USP is concerned, we have the technology, we understand the markets and have strong support from my colleagues on the conventional media.

What are the projects that you are on now?

Projects Division: We are implementing electronic identity cards in six districts in West Bengal, which is of Rs.1.5 crore worth. We are compelled to do this project for the photo identity cards which are made mandatory for the elections, which would be conducted in the state in a short time.

India development centre is handling four projects of which two are export projects, from a New Jersey and California based companies. This would go on for 4-8 weeks. We also have a project from ICWAI apart from a local company. Other than these, the entire tendertimes backbone is being shifted to IBM platform.

We have been doing small projects for the past 4-5 years but all those were small dollar projects. In the next years, we are expecting to do big value projects.

What are the government projects you got?

Eastern Railway, SAIL, STC have already gone through us for their tenders. Apart from this, we are also in talks with government of Karnataka for few tenders.

What is the split of revenues of your businesses in this year?

Our services operation would contribute 50%, projects division contributes 16%. Out of the rest 34%, 10% would come from tendertimes and the rest from our development centre. This is a minimum amount we are expecting.

What has contributed for your sudden jump in profits last year?

Last year we had many Y2K projects and exports in this sector. These have added 25 lakhs to us. We also had major project of election commission.

what are the revenue generation channels in your site?

We have four ways of revenue generation:
1. By way of Banner advertisements: We have already collected banner advertisements and have been making some revenues out of this.
2. By way of providing services to the clients: There are various steps a person has to follow as a process of tendering to certain tender notice. We provide all the services like documentation, cost execution and all related activities.
3. By the tender advertisements:
We advertise the tender notices on our site. The companies which want to advertise for each tender have to pay almost around Rs.1200 per centimetre square of a news paper and one advertisement would run into few lakhs. We would be doing this for just Rs.5000.
4. By way of providing information to the clients: There is a lot of information, which a person before putting a tender has to know about it. We charge an amount called access charges for every registration of a person.

Are you expecting any profits out of your portal tendertimes?

Yes. Out of 5000 visitors using tendertimes now, if atleast 20% of these people use tendertmes services would breakeven us and all the visitors more than this figure would fetch us profits.

What are your expectations on revenues this year?

We are expecting a sales of Rs.660 lakhs and a profit of Rs.160 lakhs. We are absorbing a lot of depreciation this year, otherwise we would have more profits.

From which division are you expecting to get more revenues in the future?

We have seen a lot of growth in the tender business and that too the infrastructure tenders like construction of roads have been increasing tremendously in the country. We see almost 30% revenues to get from this business.

How are you going to share the revenues?

It is a flat rate. We are still in the stage of installing the basic infrastructure like setting up offices at all the cities to have an access to submit the quotations. We are expecting a user to use the site for atleast 12 times in a year. Each time he will end up paying Rs.1000 as registration charges apart from the indirect costs.

How do you justify the premium?

We have been in the market for the past 10 years and we have contributed the capital at the same amount.

How do you foresee your company?

We want to expand to global level and hence we would be eyeing at the SAARC countries. We will also be looking at the countries like Australia and New Zealand
