● Call: Applicants can check their PAN application status by calling on TIN call centre’s helpline number 020-27218080 and providing them with the acknowledgement number given at the time of PAN application.
● SMS service: Applicants can check their PAN application status by sending their 15-digit acknowledgement number to 57575. They will receive an SMS regarding the PAN status.

Applicants can check their status even without the acknowledgement number. Visit the NSDL website or the UTIITSL website and provide your first name, middle name (optional), last name and date of birth. Notably, the date of birth should be mentioned correctly in the application format, otherwise, your service regarding the application status will be declined. Complete the form and click on the Submit tab. You will get your PAN application status in no time.

● Visit the official site of PAN card tracking
● From the drop-down menu box, select the PAN – new/change option
● Enter the 15-digit acknowledgement/enrolment number correctly

● Click on submit and the website will provide you with the PAN application status

Visit either the UTIISL website or TIN NSDL and then choose the New PAN option. Select Form 49A and fill in all the required details carefully. After that, the application is required to pay a minimal sum as the processing fee. The documents required to apply for PAN are as follows:

Identity proof

A copy of one of the following documents is required:

● Ration card with the candidate’s photograph
● Photograph identity card provided by central government, state government or any undertaking of the public sector
● A certificate provided by the bank with the candidate’s account number and other necessary information
● Health scheme card provided by the central government of India.

● Driving license
● Pensioner card with the applicant’s photograph

Following documents are required in their original form:

● The document of identity in the advised format with the signature of a gazetted officer, MLA or MP.
● A letterhead provided by the applicant’s bank with the applicant’s account number, name, and other necessary information mentioned on it.

Documents required as proof of Address

● Voter ID card with a photograph of the applicant
● Aadhaar card
● Passport of the spouse
● Bank document
● Electricity bill
● Landline bill
● Domicile certificate provided by the Government of India
● Driving license
● Documents of property registration

Documents required for proof of date of birth

● Birth certificate provided by any office or municipal corporation
● Certificate of matriculation by any recognized board
● Aadhaar card
● Driving license
● Marriage certificate issued by marriage registrar
● Domicile certificate provided by any state government or Government of India
● An affidavit stating the date of birth which is duly signed before the magistrate

Document required as Identity proof (Foreign Nationals)

Copies of these documents are required for PAN application.

● Passport
● Persons of Indian Origin Card (PIO) issued by the Government of India
● Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) card issued by the Government of India
● Other national ID number, taxpayer ID number, and citizen ID number (any of the mentioned) have to be duly attested by the Embassy of India/Consulate working in the candidate’s home country/High Commission of India.

Document for Proof of Address (Foreign Nationals)

● Non-resident bank account statement from any Indian bank
● The candidate’s native bank account statement
● Other national ID number, taxpayer ID number and citizen ID number (any of the mentioned) have to be duly attested by the Embassy of India/Consulate working in the candidate’s home country/High Commission of India.
